Forum Feature: Oceangram Stories Group

The second forum to be featured on this blog is our very own,
Oceangram Stories Yahoo Group.
It was created on August 5th. On August 7th, Anna from Finland was brave enough to be the first poster. She posted many of her oceangrams and since then we have had 190 people join. They are a diverse group of people from age 15 to 60. While many members are from the U.S.A., we also have members from Finland, Australia, England, Romania, Holland, Canada, and Singapore and invite members from all countries to join us.

There is a great group of people who regularly post, and I can count on the group to give me their honest opinion about ideas I have for the blog, etc. Often, oceangrams for the Oceangram Archive site are found by group members and are first posted in the group.

Quotes from the group:

When I first began to visit Oceangram, there had been
around 1400 bottles delivered. Last time I looked,
there's been nearly two and a half million! This site
is a great way to pass time; I find it relaxing with
an unexpected laugh every now and again. Kudos to the
folks that started the site! And Happy Bottling to
the Oceangram Stories Group.

Here's my quote for the day- 9/10/06-9:30 am.

Doubt vs Faith

Doubt sees the obstacles
Faith sees the way.
Doubt sees the darkest night
Faith sees the day.
Doubt dreads to take a step
Faith soars on high.
Doubt questions 'Who believes?'
Faith answers, 'I.'

Oh, and there was the Stupid Bat Story oceangram shared by Caframont, which I didn't repost because it's an internet classic already, but it was funny. ; )

I want to thank the Oceangram Stories Group (OGS) for being my guinea pigs sometimes and letting me test ideas out on them and also for letting me repost their Oceangrams. They are an understanding group. If you would like to join the group, please click on this link and follow instructions, or find the "join" button in the sidebar of this blog and enter your email address there. We look forward to meeting you.

Happy Oceangramming!

Don't forget to make your guess about the Five Millionth Oceangram!
The deadline is coming up on Saturday. Try to win the "Blue Ribbon" and the "Forum Cup" by making the closest guess.

It is not illegal to talk in your forums about your guesses before you officially enter. By the way, you don't have to have a "forum affiliation" to enter. You can be a "free agent" or join "Oceangram Stories Group."

Good Luck!
